{image1}Looking for something positive and fun to do with your family? The Riverwest Community Peace Gathering workshop is today from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the COA Youth & Family Center, 909 E. Garfield Ave.

This "afternoon of peace learning and community wellness workshop" includes a workshop by Olusegun Sijuwade of Peace Lab International, a peace-through-art workshop, anti-violence discussions, a "Hip-Hop for Peace" concert with G Murray and the Taste Emcees and dinner at 4:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to everyone.

"In Riverwest, we talk, preach and sing a lot about peace, coming together and diversity. I hope our community will use this as an opportunity to put our words into action. This peace learning event is for everybody and is a great way for our youth and families to start their summer on the positive," says Tanya Cromartie-Twaddle, event coordinator.

Cromartie-Twaddle will champion the third annual Summer of Peace Citywide Youth Rally on July 28. The youth-led initiative seeks to unite the community to promote non-violence and positive entertainment. Stay tuned to OMC for more information about this event.
