Bublr Bikes and UWM unveiled six new Bublr stations, as well as three UWM-branded bikes, on the school's campus at an event held at the Golda Meir Library on Tuesday.

The new stations are located at the UWM Student Union, the Golda Meir Library, Sandburg Hall and on North Avenue outside of the Riverview, Kenilworth Square and Cambridge Commons student living facilities. In addition, the three UWM-branded bikes went into operation, painted gold rather than the usual "Bublr blue" and featuring the school's logo and its own Twitter hashtag: #BublrUWM.

All students are also eligible to sign up for a no-cost Bublr Bikes pass that provides unlimited 60-minute trips for a year. Currently, almost 700 students have signed up for the pass for the current school year.

"At UWM, our faculty, staff and students are good stewards of the environment, on campus and in our community," UWM Chancellor Mark Mone said. "Many walk or bike to work as their regular form of transportation. We are extremely pleased to have Bublr Bikes as a partner to encourage even more of our campus community to make choices that are both healthy and environmentally responsible."

The six new stations on UWM's campus are a part of an additional 17 stations being installed throughout the city by Bublr Bikes this month, more than doubling its current network and bringing the total of stations to 28. In the coming years, Bublr expects to grow to 100 bike sharing stations and 1,000 bikes in operation in the city.
