Television as a whole still kind of sucks these days. Writers ... point taken. While I know why the broadcast networks' programming has tanked, I can't help but wonder what the heck has happened to HBO? It's creative moxy, marquee programming and mojo are all gone.
Tune in tonight and chances are you'll see some "In Treatment" show that I won't watch and don't even want to know what it's about (sorry, no interest), "John Adams" and a bunch of crappy movies.
HBO probably doesn't care since everyone is trying to be like them by knocking off "Sex in the City" while they count their coins and awards from "The Sopranos," "Six Feet Under," "Band of Brothers," "The Wire," "Deadwood," "Curb" and other landmark programs.
I miss all of these shows, but am even sadder that HBO hasn't replaced them with equal quality or quantity.
Sure, "Entourage" is coming back and I still look forward to new "Real Sports" episodes, but I want more and frankly expect more from HBO.
Come on, HBO. It's time to your groove back.

Lets see, HBO sucks now! Less programming more advertising, First look, The Buzz, They replay the same boring movies over and over again. How many times can you watch recount or some stupid teenage movie or something with Jennifer Lopez, she's not a real actor!! Hilary Duff, on and on. HBO is going the way MTV went! They stopped there music programming and went with cheap reality shows.

Neither show has buzz or stirs interest. Tastes are subjective, yet there's no denying that HBO has lost its mojo. We'll see what the summer and fall bring. It's hard, though, to stay on top for so long.

How can you say HBO sucks when you admit you haven't watched "In Treatment" or "John Adams"? Where's your objectivity and journalistic integrity? Let's take a gander before we make such brash statements! I haven't see "In Treatment", but have heard nothing but great things about it. Don't have time right now, but I will catch it when I can. I have been watching "John Adams" and it is amazing. It certainly proves the "quality and quantity" you claim HBO lacks.

HB-BLOWS! This is the first year I haven't been a subscriber since like before 1st & Ten, Dream On, Not Necessarily the News, bring back those shows. WEEDS AND DEXTER IS WAY BETTER THAN ANYTHING HB-BLOW IS DOING! Just download that crap. Am I missing anything? I've been watching Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmern and No Reservations: With Anthony Bourdain... and not really missing the pay channels. Why can't I find the original IRON CHEF ANYMORE!? I hate that crappy American Iron Chef. What good docs have I been missing? I been okay with the documentaries on Straight Edge and random stuff like that on basic.

HBO stops at John Adams. It is a great mini series similar to Band of Brothers where there is no sugar coating of history. Otherwise, it is the same crap played over and over again. Meanwhile, Cinemax has great movies every couple of days. Sucks!
