Welcome to a weekly segment called "Social Circle." It's OnMilwaukee.com's first article that's truly a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors.

Every Monday, we will ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in the Thursday column. Well-known Milwaukee movers-and-shakers will contribute, too.

In case you haven't noticed, it's a hot one out there, folks. And even though you might be sick of hearing and talking about the blistering summer heat, here's more of discussion on the topic. OnMilwaukee.com, did, however, try to keep it fresh with this week's question: "How can you stay cool without air conditioning?"

We received lots of creative suggestions from our social media pals and feel free, as always, to add yours via the Talkback feature.

Melanie Ariens: "Gordon Park splash pad, 11 to 5 daily. Just got back!"

Meg Bacik: "We did bobbing for watermelon, cantaloupe and lemons yesterday. We tried ice cubes, but it didn't work so well."

Beth Braun: "Underclothes in the freezer (bra especially); soaking sleeping clothes before bed; ice cubes under a hat."

Courtney Baran: "Fun with ice cubes. Rated-G fun or rated-R fun, depending on who is trying to stay cool."

Sura Faraj: "Wet shirts. Popsicles. Icy drinks. Cold, wet bandana around the neck. Siesta in the middle of the day and stay up later in the cool night."

Dan Franke: "Look at pictures of last winter's snow and be thankful you aren't shoveling."

Shana Franzen: "Easy. Go to Bradford Beach and play in Lake Michigan. Water is freezing cold but feels good."

Anthony Garrison: "Go to the movies. Go out for drinks with friends."

Melanie Becker Hoover: "Come to Kenosha! We are extremely cool here!"

Kristin Karpinksi: "Tequila. Over ice of course."

Paul Kennedy: "Date a large-breasted witch."

Thea Kovac: "Clean the refrigerator often."

Adam Levin: "Stand next to the Bronz Fonz."

Lisa Mahan: "Read in the tub."

Melissa Paap-Young: "Wear your swimsuit around the house and shoot yourself with water from water gun."

Mikee Shields: "Create an ice bath with Miller Lite. Stay cool and if you feel a little thirsty, have a beer. Two birds with one stone, if you will."

Jason Stark: "Or you could substitute a Miller Lite with actual beer."

Chester Steve: "Go shopping."

Velia Tarnoff: "Bathe in ice cream."

Mitchell Wakefield: "PopsicHole."

Christina Ward: "Hillbilly air conditioner: bowl of ice in front of the fan."

Annie Weidert: "Jump in a shower fully dressed to wet down and then ride a bike! Insta-fan. That's how I used to ride home from work or the gym in Sacramento during the part of the summer that was perpetually over 100 degrees. Works great."
