Whether you're looking to rid yourself of a few gray hairs, a sweet way to take yourself back to summer or some "wild" new tunes to rock out to, this week's OnMilwaukee.com Recommends has you covered.

Wild Beasts – Smother & Twin Sister – In Heaven (Domino Records) – Wild Beasts and Twin Sister are labelmates and touring together. And both records are great, which means their Sunday, Oct. 2 show at Turner Hall Ballroom is a must-see. Wild Beasts' third LP, "Smother," is something like a modern Orange Juice. All quirky vocals and rhythms and melodies join twinkling guitars to create a sound that is unique in its time. While contemporaries like Arctic Monkeys are all frantic energy, Wild Beasts, despite the name, are more subtle, more three-dimensional, more dynamic. "Lion's Share" simmers before "Bed of Nails" strolls in a low-key dance-y way and "Deeper" relies more heavily on bass and drums to support the vocal and "Reach a Bit Further" bubbles with pleasant energy. "In Heaven," meanwhile, is the debut from Twin Sister and it's part Swedish girl pop (a la Cinnamon and The Cardigans) and part Tom Tom Club. That means I like it a lot. – Bobby Tanzilo

MimicColor – Maybe you are like me and have just a couple of rogue gray hairs that sneak in, or perhaps you are a total silver fox and are tired of touching up your roots every few weeks. Whichever category of graying hair you fall into, everyone can use the cleverness of MimicColor waterproof hair color cosmetics to hide those stray grays or completely camouflage light roots. This "makeup" for your hair comes in several shades to extend the life of your hair color between touch-ups. Packaged in a convenient compact housed in a discreet pouch, MimicColor comes with two brushes – a dense, flat one for large areas like roots and men’s facial hair and an angle brush for applying MimicColor precisely to the brows. MimicColor is easy to apply and super effective. As someone who removed half of their eyebrows as a teen only to never have them return – I am loving MimicColor to fill in and contour my arches! MimicColor has also just introduced ColorUp Highlighting wands for temporary highlights. I tried the shimmery Copper and Blonde in my jet-black hair and loved the results. Change without commitment? I think this may have been invented for me. – Lindsay Garric

"Shut Up Little Man" – If you're not too film-ed out from the Milwaukee Film Festival, head over to The Times Cinema this weekend to catch a showing of "Shut Up Little Man." Part documentary and part twisted version of "The Odd Couple," this darkly comic film is centered around two guys' audio recordings of their quirky neighbors: a flamboyant gay man and a raging homophobe. Have some laughs and explore the fine line between  art and exploitation, all for just $5. – Renee Lorenz

Calypso Bay Pineapple Mandarin Orange Spritz – The same week I saw these in a display at my local grocery store, I was sent samples of this flavor and a Ruby Red Citrus variety from the people at Calypso Bay. Each is a clear "premium malt beverage" with 4.1 percent alcohol, natural flavors and artificial sweeteners. Though the grapefruit-y citrus flavor – which was also a little heavy on the artificial sweetener – wasn't to my liking, the pineapple orange, though still sticky sweet, is the kind of dangerously tasty beverage you could over-enjoy on a hot summer's day.  There's no hint (beyond the label) that there's any alcohol in there and it goes down like soda, so you'd better pay attention to your intake. – Bobby Tanzilo
