George Harrison – Living in the Material World (Universal Music DVD) – No less than Martin Scorsese could take on the task of condensing the life of Beatles guitarist George Harrison into a full-length documentary. Harrison, unsurprisingly to a life-long Beatles fan, emerges as every bit as talented and complex as Lennon and McCartney, whose shadow he never really managed to escape, despite his wide-ranging interests, famed devotion to matters spiritual and often brilliant solo career. Scorsese interviews Eric Idle, George Martin, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, Phil Spector, Terry Gilliam, Eric Clapton, son Dhani and many more to try and get to the nugget of what made George tick and in the end it is his widow Olivia who hits it all home when she says Harrison spent so much time and energy exploring spirituality so that he would be ready, when the time came, to leave his body in the best way possible. Sadly, that happened too soon. Despite being named for a Harrison solo record, "Living In the Material World" may disappoint those seeking to look deeper into the story of George's solo career, which other than "All Things Must Pass," the Concert for Bangladesh and The Traveling Wilburys, is more or less ignored. – Bobby Tanzilo

Season finale of "Modern Family" – The final episode of this season's "Modern Family" aired on Wednesday night. Not wanting to be a spoiler, I'll just say this: it has one of the more surprising twist endings than I've seen on network television in a long time. Plus, there's a rather touching scene between the usually hilarious gay partners portraying the frustration and heartbreak that sometimes comes along with family building. Watch it on HULU if you haven't seen it already. – Molly Snyder

Able Planet Sound Clarity NC510B headphones – I listen to music in all kinds of settings and so I'm always looking for good headphones. These active noise canceling headphones are comfortable, offer pretty good noise cancellation and a wide frequency response. There's a convenient volume control in the cord and both 3.5mm and 1/4-inch plugs for home or mobile use. They fit nicely (at least on my head), though they're not super lightweight and come with a sturdy lightweight case. It took me a little while to figure out how to get the two AAA batteries loaded into one of the ear cups, but once I figured it out, I wondered how I'd struggled so. You can use them with the sound canceling feature off, but they're much less sensitive that way and, of course, they don't sound nearly as good that way. These phones generally retail around $200, but a quick web search turned up places selling them for under half that. – Bobby Tanzilo

Firefly's "skinny" drinks – There's not much to dislike about summer. Patios, pools, barbecues and festivals all make for one solid stretch of seasonal fun. For waistline-watchers, however, summer can get tricky. Nevermind the various foods-on-a-stick, those fancy warm-weather refreshments can pack a serious punch. Thankfully, Firefly Urban Bar & Grill, 7754 Harwood Ave. in Wauwatosa, has stepped up to save the day with a new line of "skinny drinks." These libations all clock in at under 200 calories each and feature cool summery flavors like cucumber, mint and tropical fruits. So, take some time off from calorie counting – you'll have plenty of time to exercise your math skills once the festival fryers fire up. – Renee Lorenz
