The "Social Circle" is a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

All those back-to-school photos on social media this week inspired a back-to-school question. OnMilwaukee.com asked the Social Circle where they went to high school and if they are still in contact with high school friends.

Here are the responses from the Social Circle and feel free to contribute via the Talkback feature.

Marie Amdrae: "Class reunions are the reason I and my classmates opened Facebook accounts."

Nick Berg: "Catholic Memorial High School, class of 2000. Still get together / play softball / celebrate weddings, kids, etc., in person on an almost weekly basis."

Sarah Berg: "Wauwatosa East '77 in da house! And a few of us just had an informal reunion last month!"

Kari Beyer: "Juneau Business High School. Closed in 2006. I graduated in 1988. And I still have friends from high school I keep in touch with."

Steve Braley: "Hamilton. 1979. No."

Jim Carney: "Sandwich, Ill. I'm still friends and call, and / or visit when I can. They live every where. I'm envious of people that still live within 100 miles of where they grew up."

Matthew Eells: "Milwaukee High School of the Arts, and yes. Facebook has made it easier but that's not a good thing all the time!"

Jim Gabriel: "Nicolet. Class of ’90. Connected with them through Facebook."

Ron Gillbert: "Nicolet, class of '72. Still friends with a bunch of people, but skipped the reunions that I have heard about."

Bill Hartz: "Brown Deer, 1989, and only on Facebook."

Lorraine Heinz: "Beloit Catholic High – closed around 2000. I keep contact with two friends via Facebook. My class is not really close. On the other hand, my husband went to West Milwaukee High and we are connected with much of his class."

Lori Hennes: "Slinger class of 97. I am connected to one in person and a couple others on Facebook. We had one reunion but our class lost the list so who knows if we will ever have another."

William Ivy Jenkins: "Nicolet and yes."

Damien Jones: "Walden III. Class of '98. I do talk to some of them regularly."

Paul Kennedy: "Ethan Allen school for boys. Occasionally in line-ups."

Meghan Koven: "Rufus King High School. And yes, I am still connected to a variety of classmates."

Kent Knapp: "Nicolet and no."

Paul Christophe Leyer: "Dominican and yes."

Claudine Lienau: "Sheboygan South. Yes, but mostly via Facebook."

Mark McBride: "Tosa East. Connected mostly through Facebook and class reunions."

Dave Mikoajek: "Pius XI '88. Chris Schlehlein gets the old crew (including even the Tosa East cats) together once or twice a year; usually at Leff's."

Matthew Nordberg: "Homestead and yes."

Al Oldham: "Piner High School (Santa Rosa, Calif.) and totally connected to some of the former classmates."

Randy Otto: "Sheboygan Falls, class of ’74. Just attended our 40th class reunion in July, so definitely connected to my high school pals."

Mark Paar: "Pius IX. 1983. A few of us still stay in touch."

Elysabeth Reichman: "St. Joan Antida, class of 2000. I am friends with a lot of people on Facebook, but I don't see many people regularly. The ones I want to see, I see and am close with."

Kristina Sanchez: "Homestead high school class of 2005 and I'm still incredibly close with all my high school friends. We all moved away for college and for the many of us that moved back after our bond is still just as strong."

Kathy Schacht: "Lakeland Union High School, Minocqua. Yes, of course."

Laura Apple Schiff: "I just spent a week at Burning Man with five other Shorewood High grads. It was quite a crew!"
