Turn it up or throw on another sweater? |

Nobody wants to crank the heat any earlier than they have to, but Wisconsin has unpredictable weather patterns and sometimes it gets chilly long before it "should."
Are you one of those people with a strict rule about when you can turn on the heat or do you turn it on whenever you get cold, regardless of early exorbitant heat bills?
Sound-off, Milwaukee, and let us know when you turn it up: Oct. 1, Nov. 1 or any time the temperature dips below 50 degrees?
I will not turn my heat on until a specific date. I am very strict about when I turn on my heat. I pile on sweaters, wrap up in a blanket and drink hot tea before I turn on my heat. I do not want to pay heating bills any sooner than I absolutely have to.
I turn my heat on when I'm cold. I cannot live in a chilly house, so whenever it feels cold inside to me, I just turn on the heat and accept that the expensive bill is practically in the mail. It's just a part of living in Wisconsin. Being cold sucks.

Did you hear? WE Energies is cutting its rates 15%...Yippee! I can raise the temp in the house to 51 degrees. Of course, I won't turn on the lights before 8 p.m. until we turn back the clocks in November.

Normally I would not turn on the heat this early, but the since we just got a new puppy... who is a single coat breed, we had no choice but to turn it on.

Heat does not come on until below 40 outside and then it stays at 60 around the clock in my house, that is until the wife comes home and jacks it up to 86.

After spending Winter of 2008/09 in my new home circa 1922, I will wait until body parts turn blue or purple and just invest in my own wool factory. All the tax credits in the world cannot help me afford new windows, good insulation, and a furnace. I will be insulating pipes and attics myself this year and see what that does.
