If you're a frequent customer of Dee's Wine Stop, 2327 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., you might have noticed the ongoing construction in the empty storefront immediately to the north.
Owner Deanne Wecker has been working on her tasting room for months and now that the dust has settled, she's opening it to the community for a celebration.
This Thursday, July 24 she hosts a tasting with Wisconsin's Stone's Throw Winery at 6:30 p.m. Guests can learn about the winery from Baileys Harbor in Door County while sampling the fruits of the labor of owner Russell Turco and his staff.
"This is a great way to meet your neighbors and learn about the best wine Wisconsin has to offer," she says.
The tasting is $10 (includes cheese noshing) and she offers a 10% discount on purchases of three or more bottles of the featured wines. Wecker recommends reserving a spot by calling the store at (414) 486-7867.
