Deanne Wecker, owner of Lee's Luxury Lounge, 2988 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., will open a wine shop -- called Dee's Wine Stop – during the third week of January. The address is 2327 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
"'Dee' after my name and 'Wine Stop' is a play on truck stops. My logo is based on an old gas station logo. It comes from my love of road tripping," says Wecker.
Dee's Wine Stop will offer a wide range of wines and, eventually, will feature tastings and classes.
"I think that the location and the size of my store are just right for what I'm going to offer. It's small enough to be casual and welcoming, yet there is enough room to offer some really fun wines and other merchandise that you can't find in the area," says Wecker.
Wecker, who has been a wine enthusiast for 11 years, plans to have a laid-back environment with a very knowledgeable staff.
"I'm really excited to be a part of the progress and development of South Kinnickinnic and I believe the time is right for Bay View to have its first wine store," says Wecker.
Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for a full feature once this wine shop opens in January.

GREAT addition to the Bay View Community! I live right around the corner and am a wine enthusiast, I'm sure I will be visiting a little too often...

I don't live anywhere near that area, but I will definitely visit your shop. Best of luck to you, and bring on the wine!
