So many women live by the fashion rule that wearing all black is slimming. It hides your flaws and makes you feel comfortable. I used to be one of those women. My closet was an array of shades of black and maybe a grey piece made an appearance from time to time.

But let's break this down: When we dress with the intention of hiding our bodies, we are also hiding our true selves. No woman is truly flawless, and fashion is about expressing yourself and being seen. When I decided to finally be comfortable with my body, my closet exploded with all the colors you can think of! Instead of focusing on hiding my flaws, I learned that what is truly slimming is having the correct fit – nothing to do with color at all!

Now, instead of wearing a monochromatic black outfit, I rock one in bright red! Plus this color is one of the It colors of the year!

My challenge to you is to incorporate on new color to your wardrobe this season – and see how it transforms your look!
