This morning, Outpost Natural Foods announced that, as a part of its 45th anniversary celebration, the co-op will begin remodeling its flagship location at 100 E. Capitol Dr.

The renovation project, expected to cost around $150,000, will update the look and seating capacity of The Fork café with custom tables and menu boards, as well as add a reclaimed wood feature wall; update the look of the juice and coffee bar, plus adding a second cash register; refresh the service counter for the bakery, relocate the soup and salad bar, as well as add kombucha on tap; increase the capacity of the dairy department and update freestanding coolers; streamline the look of the wine shelving to increase easier access; and expand the layout of the personal care department.

Work is scheduled to begin later this month and wrap up by the end of April. The store will remain open throughout the remodeling process.

The location was previously remodeled back in 2003, with an expanded retail footprint and major interior and exterior changes.

In addition to the project at 100 E. Capitol Dr., Outpost is scheduled to open a pop-up grocery store at 17th and North Avenue in late summer.
