South Side welcomes Pete's Fruit Market
Pete's Fruit Market recently expanded and opened the doors to its larger store last week at 1400 S. Union St., on the corner of 17th Street and Greenfield Avenue. The soft opening took place on Wednesday, Oct. 26, and a grand opening celebration will be announced soon.
The store includes fresh fruits and vegetables, dried beans and grains, an expanded grocery section, including Latin and other ethnic foods, pre-packaged meat (butchered on-site, including Amish-raised chicken), hot and cold deli items and freshly-made salsas and guacamole.
Pete Tsiritidis started Pete's Fruit Market in 1975 in Waukegan, Ill. He moved the business to Milwaukee in 1993.
Pete's is open everyday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. including holidays.

Isn't this a re-opening? Pete's has been at that location for years.
