The Chicago Tribune reports that Sears will close seven poor performing stores in February. Among them: The Sears Grand and Sears Essentials stores in American Fork, Utah; Clearwater, Fla.; and in Menomonee Falls, at N77 W14435 Appleton Ave. The 75,000-sq. ft. Sears Grand location opened in 2006 when it was transformed out of a Kmart.
Last month, Sears also decided to close on a dozen stores at the end of the year, including eight Kmarts, two mall locations, a Sears Grand and a Sears Essentials.
Local real estate sources say that the company also will not renew its lease at Bayshore Towne Center. It has three more years left at the location. Mall owners are said to be pursing a replacement. Von Maur and Nordstrom are targets.

DVM - a quick list of Nordstrom stores finds them in Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, etc. So really your comment is ignorant. However, their latest sales figure came out & they are taking a major beating, so I doubt any new stores for them is on the horizon.

Sears is one of those stores, I just don't understand. Its got great appliances, lawn mowers and exercise equipment. Beyond buying those things, I do not see a purpose in shopping there. By the way.. if Nordstroms ever came into Milwaukee, I would consider all my shopping dreams fulfilled.

They have wanted Sears out of Bayshore for a while. And while they still have three years left on their lease, I am sure this holiday season will make Sears want to get out of there sooner. The question will be if Von Mauer or Nordstrom wants to go in there now. Two years ago they would have jumped at the chance but I don't think either Nordstroms or Von Mauer are too keen on expansion right now.
