Sendik's chips in big for the MACC Fund
The 10 Balisteri-owned and operated Sendik's Food Markets presented a check for $107,300 to the MACC Fund this week.
The check represented proceeds from the local grocer's quarterly MACC Fund charitable program that ended in January.
This year's donation brings the four-year total from Sendik's to the MACC Fund to $309,000. Last year's program raised $80,000 compared to $62,000 in 2009 and $59,000 in 2008.
To help raise the money, Sendik's sold 2,543 Today's TMJ4 MACC*Stars for $10 each, 7,000 candy canes at $1 each, 1,500 Sendik's Real Food magazines as well as other designated Sendik's MACC Fund products.
