{image1}Love to party and to shop? Huzzah! Vieux et Nouveau, 1688 N. Franklin Pl., now offers Very Fashionable Shopper (VFS) Parties to groups of 6-15 women.

Most of Vieux et Nouveau's fashions are made by local artisans, including Scandalcat, Keniq Caira, Hidee Ho Designs, Suzi Dixon, Adornment by Joan Stroika, Tina Miller, Bonnie De Sautelle, Debbie Austin, Mary Makings, Mimi and Laura Livermore and more.

"Many customers come back because no one else will be wearing the same thing," says owner Heidi Calaway, who opened the boutique in late October 2003.

VFS groups get the boutique privately, and during this party, Vieux et Nouveau will provide complimentary wine, soda and snacks. In addition, all guests save 20 percent off the regular-priced merchandise of purchases over $100 and an additional 10 percent off sale merchandise. There is no rental fee for the space.

Calloway says she has booked VFS parties for birthdays, bachelorette parties and new-season shopping, as do many other boutiques (Three Graces, Miss Grove, Lela, J. Bird) in the area.

"This time of year is especially popular, because people can use layaway for cool holiday gifts," she says.

Vieux et Nouveau's Web site is www.vieuxetnouveau.com.
