One of the area's latest vintage additions, A-Hem doubles as a clothing boutique and art gallery. The quaint space offers men's and women's clothing from the 1940s through the 1980s and also features select children's clothing, locally designed wearables, accessories, jewelry and original artwork.

Annie's Second Hand Chic

Annie's cozy, artsy space conjures the sort of joy you experience while rummaging through grandma's attic. The shop is stocked hop with clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags and toys, some of which date back to the golden days of the '40s, '50s and '60s, and others that are contemporary, but possess a certain "chic."

Classic clothing and Alterra coffee under one roof -- a more perfect combination might not exist. Truly a Milwaukee institution, Closet Classics opened in 1984 as a mostly vintage store and has since grown to include "something for everyone." Hats, lip rings, legwarmers, cowboy shirts, punk clothing, messenger bags, jelly shoes. If you want to wear it, they probably sell it.

This Riverwest variety shop boasts a small but well-picked collection of vintage clothing in near-perfect condition. Fischberger's features a fantastic selection of wooden, retro, tin and educational toys, including a Curious George tea set, a wooden sushi play set, jack-in-the-boxes, puzzles, tin trains and space robots, wooden instruments, cute puppets, rubber jellyfish, space guns and more.

the best vintage clothing in Milwaukee is actually online! VioletvilleVintage.com is based out of mke and also sells on ebay. the pieces are incredible, though the prices are sometimes steep. for in-store though, a-hem definitely has the best customer service!
