Welcome to OnMeowaukee Cat Week, a meowsome bunch of articles, photos, videos and an Instagram contest celebrating all aspects of Milwaukee cats. Sponsored by Bark N' Scratch Outpost, these seven days are dedicated to those creatures with nine lives who make our lives more paw-sitive.

This edition of #WeWant is filled with furry friendly options for #OnMeowaukee Week!

Cook with it: Sunny Side Up Cat Mold

Cooking isn’t just about eating. It’s about expression, creativity, love and most of all fun. This contraption is easy -- simply place the cat mold on your frying pan and crack two eggs. You then place the yolks into the rings and watch as these eggs slowly transform into an adorable cat -- according to the Kickstarter anyway! A cat-shaped mold, guaranteed to make your sunny side up eggs? Purrfect. – Andy Tarnoff

Wear them: Cat-eyed sunglasses

As a satisfied contacts wearer, I don't wear my glasses a lot – mostly at night when I am at home – but I really love my spectacles which have black "cat-eye" style frames. It occurred to me recently I should get a pair of prescription or non-prescription pair of cat-eyed sunglasses since I like the way they fit on my face. A quick Amazon search resulted in many pairs that I liked, such as this one. What am I waiting for? They're only $10. That's barely more than the cost of a bag of litter. – Molly Snyder

Prevent It: FIV/FeLV

We lost a dear friend to these two diseases earlier this year; what I really want for Cat Week is for other cat-lovers to learn about and do what they can to prevent them in their own households. Feline Immunodefiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus(FeLV) are similar, but separate diseases that can affect your cat. Similar to HIV in humans, FIV reduces a cat's ability to fight off sickness, leaving it vulnerable to opportunistic diseases. FeLV is one of the most common diseases to affect house cats. It also affects a cat's immune system and can lead to a fatal cancer of the lymph/blood system. Both can prove lethal to your cat, but you can take steps to prevent and treat these diseases with proper testing and care. Ask your vet for more information and have your cats tested for both, especially if your cat goes outdoors or interacts with other cats. – Nick Barth

Use it: Nana Phone Case

I have no issues at all having my phone be a topic of conversation. This adorable Nana Phone Case from Meowingtons is sure to do the trick. Nana is a furry kitty who promises to keep your phone warm. Now all I have to do is change my ring tone to meow and I'm all set! – Carolynn Buser

Wear 'em: Cat Vans

My 10-year-old son, who has been pretending to be a cat on and off for about six months, is a Vans' wearer. So, naturally, he really, really wants these. Hence, I recommend these kitty kicks on his behalf. If you, like, me, generally conjure images of checkerboard prints, skaters and stoners when you think of Vans then perhaps these will remind you the iconic '80s shoes are still popular and with more styles than ever. Meow. – Molly Snyder

Play with it: Frolicat

Sure, my cat is adorable and snuggly – but she can also be the cutest pest. FroliCat BOLT to the rescue? I was intrigued when I first saw the interactive laser toy that is automated frompetsafe.com. Simply turn it on and hold it for your kitty kitty to chase the random patterns across the floor, up the walls, and over furniture – or set it down on a level surface for hands-free fun. Yes, this is about $20 more than your standard laser pointer but it may be worth it. Or, you'll feel guilty like I do – but will still use it. – Carolynn Buser
