Earlier today, WYMS-FM 88Nine RadioMilwaukee named Sean Demery its new program director.

The radio veteran has worked in a number of positions at other stations, including programing director at CBS Radio’s San Francisco’s "Live 105" KITS-FM and as assistant programming director at WNNX-FM  Atlanta's "99X." Demery has twice been recognized as the programming "Director of the Year" by Radio & Records and FMQB, and he has been named "Music Director of the Year" by a number of other industry publications.

"We’re very excited to have Sean join our team," said RadioMilwaukee Executive Director Mary Louise Mussoline in a release.

"Sean’s experience and creativity will build on our commitment to deliver new and diverse music and quality programming. We’re looking forward to adding his perspective to our solid team of DJs and story producers to continue our great selection of music and programs that engage Milwaukee."

The release added that, as "a station programmer and consultant for more than two decades, Demery has focused on creating centralized cultures, ground-breaking creative content and improving station positioning."

"The moment I met the team at RadioMilwaukee, I knew I wanted to be a part of it," Demery said in a release.

"I can bring a lot to the table, but I’m more excited about learning from these engaging professionals. This is going to be fun!"

ANNIVERSARY: Eric Von and Faithe Colas are celebrating the first-year anniversary of Brain, Brawn & Body, a website dedicated to the health of African-American men.

SELECT SHOWINGS: Marcus Theaters has announced additional movie showings for special needs children and their families.

"Reel Movies for Real Needs" films are shown with lower sound volume and brighter lighting for special-needs children with autism and other challenges who may not be comfortable at a regular show. These screenings give families a chance to see first-run films in an environment that may be easier for their child to enjoy.

All showtimes in the series are 10:30 a.m. at the participating locations:

• Saturday, March 8: "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" – 2D, Rated PG
• Saturday, March 18:  "Muppets Most Wanted" – Rated PG
• Saturday, April 8: "RIO 2" – 2D, Rated PG

Participating area theaters are South Shore Cinema, Oak Creek; North Shore Cinema, Mequon; Appleton East Cinema, Appleton; Bay Park Cinema, Ashwaubenon; and Point Cinema, Madison.
