Maneuvering in the financial business world is, like most decisions in life, a gamble. Some cable business outlets just cover the news of the day, but Fox Business Network’s Deirdre Bolton knew she wanted to do more than just deliver information on the markets.

"I’m really excited about building something from the ground floor," Bolton said in an interview last week. "We chatted about creating a new show for the network that provides a different perspective, something that viewers from Milwaukee and the rest of the nation could appreciate."

Because investing in the market can be such a gamble, Bolton wanted to provide people with a way to plan their own investment course. Her "Risk and Reward with Deirdre Bolton" launched today and airs weekdays at noon weekdays on FBN.

"We will be looking at a number of different areas, where we get the experts to speak out about our respective fields like alternative assets, longer forecast strategies … We really have my dream team lineup, but I can’t say who they are yet. But it is great that everything has seemed to work out and I’ve gotten who I’ve been wanting on this show," she said.

One of the challenges we talked about was the challenge of being able to share information to both beginners at investing to those who live in the markets full time. I likened it to providing sports coverage to the average viewer as well as the super fan.

"That’s a great question and a really good way to put it," she said.

"I think we have a good way to handle it. We will start the show with a panel of experts and talk through topics. Then the show will pick up the pace as we go to delve into strategies that the others will like. I want to make smart TV, good TV."

SUMMERFEST STREAM: Last week, when the Journal Broadcast Group launched the "Radio League" streaming music app, it featured alternative, country, Top 40, contemporary Christian, variety and totally '80s streams.

A new seventh stream that features artists that will perform at Summerfest was launched late last week. Expect to hear songs from Lady Gaga and Dave Matthews Band, as well as New Order, Fitz & the Tantrums and Nas.

"Partnering with 'The World's Largest Music Festival,' Summerfest, is just one way the Radio League will become the premier place for relevant, local, digital music experiences. We're proud to have Summerfest as a charter station in the Radio League," said Tom Langmyer, vice president of news and talk programming with Journal Broadcast Group and the GM of WLWK-FM 94.5 The Lake an WTMJ-AM 620.

JOB FOR MILWAUKEE’S MOLLY:  Back a few years ago, on ABC’s "The Bachelor" in its 13th season, Molly Malaney of Grand Rapids, Mich., and then working in southeastern Wisconsin, was the runner-up when Jason Mesnick chose Melissa Rycroft to be his bride.

Flash forward, Rycroft admitted she never loved Mesnick, and the pair broke up. Mesnick re-kindled a relationship with Malaney and the two were married. Rycroft went on to "Dancing with the Stars" and "Good Morning America" appearances. Jason and Molly Mesnick made a new life together on the West Coast. WISN-TV Ch. 12 called Malaney "Milwaukee’s Molly" in on-air promotions for the hit show.

Earlier in March, Molly Mesnick took on a new job as co-host of "The Bender Nation" on KBKS-FM in Seattle, according to the RAMP industry newsletter.

"Bender and the 106.1 Kiss FM team were a part of my journey on ‘The Bachelor,’" Mesnick said. "We filmed in the studio one day and I've been a fan ever since. I am beyond honored and excited to be a part of the team."
