Wake Up team gets a shake up at Fox 6

Starting on Wednesday, anchor Jessob Reisbeck will be the newest crew member on the "Fox 6 Wake Up" team on WITI-TV Fox 6. He will join Nicole Koglin, Kim Murphy, Rob Haswell and Angelica Duria with a live broadcast from Summerfest on the music festival's opening day.

The beautiful thing about reporting and anchoring on location, especially on his first day, is that he gets a front-row view of the new community he will be covering. He'll be back in the studio on Thursday.

Reisbeck was last on KMPH-TV in Fresno, Calif., working as a sportscaster and also filled in on the anchor desk. People familiar with the team coverage format on morning news will know that in Milwaukee he will get the chance to cover sports and news while on the desk. Unlike a lot of other bigger markets, Packers, Brewers and Bucks often make their way into the top news blocks – especially on Monday mornings after a Green Bay game.

The new anchor is also familiar with the wonderful Wisconsin weather, and will have less of an adjustment if he remembers his time spent working in the Wausau market in central Wisconsin when he was fresh out of college. Although being born in Wisconsin Rapids, he reportedly spent most of his life in California, growing up in Irvine. He attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.

When you see Reisbeck on the air later this week, you may recognize him as the reporter who interviewed Kai, who is now known as a hatchet-wielding hitchhiker. The viral video has more than 4 million views.

There's a ton of harsh, vulgar language from Kai … you've been warned:

SAUSAGE RACES: What do you do when you have a successful syndicated radio sports show and a decent following on cable television, why you go to Miller Park and participate in the Klement's Sausage Races.

The producers and show host of "The Dan Patrick Show" have connections to Milwaukee, and they used them to get the gig running at a Brewers game this past weekend.

You can see the race on YouTube:

WHAT SITUATION?: Our producer friends at WTMJ-TV Ch. 4 had a little trouble with the spelling in the graphics for a police situation in Shorewood on Sunday.

The misspellings in graphics happens all too often in live reporting situations and a very adult phrase ended up being in place of SWAT SITUATION with the first letter of the first word fitting to a "T."

It's easy to point out the errors of others, just as I cringe when I have errors of my own in my columns. As much as you do your best to avoid it, these things happen.

You can see the R-rated error here.

HOURS LOST: If you were suckered into watching the "Sky Wire" event on the Discovery Channel on Sunday night, you were not alone.

OnMilwaukee.com publisher Andy Tarnoff watched it too and wished he didn't.

Here's a condensed two-minute take on what some spent hours watching:

A welcome change for the morning show.I for one could do without seeing Kim Murphy on in the morning, to me she adds nothing to the show. Even after all these years she still comes across as stiff and effected in my view.
