With the latest addition to the sports offerings on Time Warner Cable, we here in southeastern Wisconsin will have more access to sports that don’t traditionally get a lot of coverage.

beIN SPORT, with the "be" in lower case on purpose, has been added to the Sports Pass tier, and its Spanish-language sister channel is also part of the package. The HD stations are at 1337 and 837, with the standard definition signals on channels 337 and 836.

The channel and its online platforms specialize in World Cup coverage, as well as international tennis, multiple soccer leagues and basketball, boxing, rugby, volleyball and golf. The network will carry games from Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue 1, South American World Cup Qualifiers and Copa America 2015. The network also airs the away games of the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team in the qualifying rounds of the 2014 World Cup.

SINGING: When America voted in record numbers, it sent "The Voice" winner Cassadee Pope into the stratosphere.

The former lead singer of a little-known band called Hey Monday, fell into greater obscurity until getting the chance to sing before Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine in this third season of the singing-reality show. Now she is on her way with $100,000 and a deal with Universal Records.

She beat out Nicholas David from Team Cee Lo and teammate from Blake Shelton's team Terry McDermott.

Aguilera and Green are sitting out next season, which comes up pretty quick in early 2013 … just in time for the May sweeps, I’m sure. R&B artist Usher and Shakira will join Levine and Shelton on the hit NBC show.

DUI: ABC reporter and political commentator Sam Donaldson faces a DUI charge following an incident on Dec. 1. According to police reports, he was pulled over after allegedly driving on the shoulder of the road. He failed the field sobriety test and was booked at a Delaware police station.

FINALLY HERE: If you were one of the folks that went out early and purchased a Wii U from Nintendo, you’ve had to wait for the game maker’s TV service. Well, just in time for those with one of these wrapped under the Christmas tree, the Nintendo TVii service is set to start up on Thursday.

The launch was delayed a month and has some anticipated features, including allowing users to talk on social networks about live television and offers a unified guide for TV, cable and video services.

HOAX: The viral video of the eagles attempting to pick up a small child is a fake. According to a release from a design college in Montreal, students created the 3D animation of the eagle and the child and then added in the background at the park.

"The production simulation workshop class, offered in fifth semester, aims to produce creative projects according to industry production and quality standards while developing team work skills," the statement said.

Most local TV stations ran footage of the video, as did national news outlets earlier this week.
