When the staff of Flux Design was featured on the DIY Channel’s "Made in Milwaukee," the drive to install something a little more artistic was evident in its home makeovers.

Now the artists from the show, and the greater arts community, will give something back through the Annual Feed Your Soul event at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the design firm’s studio at 811 E. Vienna Ave. in Milwaukee.

A silent auction of 30 wooden bowls, and 30 additional pieces of original art will benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Since the event’s inception in 2004, Feed Your Soul has raised more than $365,000 to help feed the hungry.

"Eleven years ago, we never could have imagined the impact an event like Feed Your Soul would have on our organization," said Bonnie Bellehumeur, president of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

"Feeding America is so thankful for the support of the Milwaukee art and design community and the team of volunteers that help make this event happen year after year. Together, we’re able to provide hope to hungry families across Wisconsin."

GAMING FOR THE KIDS: A number of area video game players are getting together on Saturday for a 24-hour gaming marathon to help raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

The "Button Mash Bash: An Extra Life Campaign" will begin at 8 a.m. at the 42 Lounge at 326 E. Mason St. in Milwaukee. Organizers ask gamers to seek sponsors to make a pledge for each hour they play, or they will take donations from anyone that wants to join in. Some of the audience participation segments include the "Rock Band" doner jukebox, where the donations go to help decide what song is played next.

For those interested, the event will be streaming on ButtonMashBash.com and participate in person at the 42 Lounge between 1 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Every $10 donation gets an entry into a giveaway, each valued at more than $150. Some of the prizes include the game Cards Against Humanity, a variety pack of slow-crafted Midwestern bitters from Bittercube, a bar tab from 42 Lounge, and two tickets to the Midwest Gaming Classic. To find out more about the list of prizes and making a tax-deductible donation check out the event details on ButtonMashBash.com.

BACK IN TIME: The CBS Television Stations group, a division of CBS Corporation, and Weigel Broadcasting announced in October its plans to launch "Decades," a new national entertainment programming service for distribution across local television stations’ digital subchannels, in 2015.

"Decades" will be available over the air and will appear on a number of local cable systems and other multichannel video programming distribution services across the country.

The new channel will be built with a library of more than 100 classic television series, including select titles from the CBS library such as "I Love Lucy" from the 1950s, "Star Trek" from the 1960s, "Happy Days" from the 1970s and "Cheers" from the 1980s, as well as a wide selection of theatrical and made-for-television movies and footage of historical news events from the archives of CBS News and "Entertainment Tonight."

"’Decades’ is the most ambitious and creative subchannel programming service that has ever been created," said Peter Dunn, president of CBS Television Stations. "We are thrilled to partner with Weigel Broadcasting, the leaders in this space, to make smart use of our stations’ spectrums and our companies’ considerable programming assets. This service will be a tremendous new business for CBS and all of the other stations across the country that participate, regardless of their primary network affiliation."
