She’s known as the conservative one.

In television, Elisabeth Hasselbeck seems to be one of very few of them among a sea of liberals that appear on network shows. That’s just an observation as the world of politics tends to bridge over to the talk programs we watch.

So it makes some sense that she is going to "Fox and Friends" on Fox News this fall. The news channel, and its morning news program, is known for its right-leaning perspective.

It was long speculated that Hasselbeck was going to leave Barbara Walters’ ensemble talk show "The View." Her co-host Joy Behar announced earlier this year that she will leave the show at the end of the year, as well. And Walters herself announced that she is going to retire in 2014.

The stage for change as now been set for "The View," which Hasselbeck’s made her final appearance on earlier today.

"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on ‘The View,’" Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said in a statement.

"She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

Hasselbeck will replace Gretchen Carlson, who will host her own daytime talk show on Fox News.

DAILY COMPETITION: Since Oprah Winfrey left the daytime TV talk show world, others have been doing their best to capture even a fraction of her audience.

There are some current leaders among "Ellen" and "Dr. Oz" with "Steve Harvey" and "The Doctors" battling with "The View" "The Chew" and "The Talk."

ABC has high hopes when it signed former "Today" and "CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric to a long-term contract. Her talk show has gained an audience but not at the level network execs hoped for.

Now, NBC is tapping former "Today" and "The View" host Meredith Vieira for a syndicated program for 2014. NBC Universal will produce the New York-based "The Meredith Vieira Show" and will handle Domestic TV Distribution for what it hopes could become the top talk show on television.

"All of us at NBCU are so excited about this new show with Meredith," said NBC Broadcasting Chairman Ted Harbert.

"She creates an instant connection with audiences with her smart, quick-witted and down-to-earth style. This entertaining and substantive show will be a great way to reach her loyal daytime fans as well as new ones who will discover why Meredith is one of America's most loved television personalities."

If you are a fan of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," then you know Vieira for her ability to be approachable, and ability to interact with others.

"Each day, I hope to accomplish what I call the three H's: Heat, Heart and Humor," she said.

"And speaking of the heart, I want to thank my husband, Richard, and kids, Ben, Gabe and Lily for strongly encouraging me to take this incredible opportunity … or else they really just want to get me out of the house."
