On Friday, Sept. 21 Academy Award nominated actor Willem Dafoe ("Platoon" and "Shadow of the Vampire") comes back to Milwaukee for the opening of the Milwaukee International Film Festival (MIFF).
This "Tribute to Willem Dafoe" will feature Dafoe taking questions from festival patrons at screenings of films he has starred in and received inspiration from. These include "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Shadow the Vampire" and the U.S. premiere of Dafoe's latest film.
Dafoe studied drama at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, but left before graduation to join Milwaukee's avant-garde group Theatre X.
The new trailer for MIFF is now on YouTube and on the festival's site. View it at the link below.
The fifth annual film festival runs Sept. 20-30 at Landmark's Oriental and Downer Theatres, the Times Cinema, the Milwaukee Art Museum, Discovery World and the UWM Union Theatre.
Advance ticket purchases to MIFF films are recommended as films do sell out. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, Sept. 5 online at milwaukeefilmfest.org, at MIFF's box office in the Oriental Theatre, and by phone at (414) 225-9761.
OnMilwaukee.com is a proud supporter of MIFF.
