When you think about international superstars putting out number one albums and selling out arena shows in the year 2018, a violinist probably isn't the first image that comes to mind. But that's what classical music star, Johann Strauss Orchestra founder and "King of the Waltz" André Rieu has done over his career, selling 40 million CDs and DVDs as well as scoring 30 No. 1-charting songs.

Now, he will bring his orchestra's modern spectacle to Milwaukee, starting his upcoming arena concert tour at the UWM Panther Arena on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m.

With the help of his 60-piece orchestra, Rieu's shows combine waltzes, film scores, folk songs, musical numbers, marches and spirituals across the history of classical music – plus a dash of humor and theatrical spectacle – to create performances unlike one's preconceptions of an orchestral show.

Tickets for the concert go on sale beginning on Friday, March 2, at 10 a.m. at the Miller High Life Theatre's box office, as well as online at André Rieu's website and Ticketmaster, and over the phone at (800) 745-3000.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
