Fountains of Wayne keep quiet at Turner on July 11

Even though bassist Adam Schlesinger is busy with his band Tinted Windows -- with Cheap Trick's Bun E. Carlos and Smashing Pumpkins James Iha -- Fountains of Wayne is hitting the road for a full-band acoustic tour this summer.

New Jersey's finest pop squad stops at Turner Hall Ballroom as part of that 11-city tour. FOW arrives here on Saturday, July 11 for an 8 p.m., all-ages gig.

Other not-too-distant gigs include The High Noon Saloon in Madison on July 8 and at Chicago's Park West on July 10.

The band's most recent CD is "Traffic and Weather," released in April 2007. The Fountains are reportedly now recording the follow-up.

there's really only one memorable song on that entire Tinted Windows ("Take Me Back"), but it's still sorta fun in a throwback to the late 70's kinda way. sure hope the new FOW songs are better than that last crappy record FOW record.

Adam Schlesinger is such a great pop songwriter. Been listening to Tinted Windows all week and, after research, discovered he penned most of the CD.
