"American Idol" standout Danny Gokey will appear at a free homecoming event at 8 tonight at the Riverside Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., but seating is limited and officials advise attendees to arrive early.

Gokey, who is preparing to embark on an "Idol" tour, will not perform at the event, as per his contract with "Idol." He will, however, be joined by his friend and fellow show contestant, Jamar Rogers, and members of his church choir.

There also will be other guest appearances, presentations and surprises. Gokey also is expected to share his "Idol" experiences, his vision for his Sophia's Heart Foundation and conduct a question and answer session with the audience.

Seating for the event will be general admission.

Before the Riverside event, there's a charity event at the Hilton Milwaukee Center Center.  It's called "Dinner with Danny" and proceeds go to his charity.  The phone number is (414) 350-6333.
