Six of Milwaukee's more prominent musical families come together on Friday night at Linneman's Riverwest Inn, 1001 E. Locust St., in a unique fundraiser to benefit veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Guitar virtuoso Greg Koch, blues bassist Kurt Koenig, Hollywood composer Chris Hanson, singer / songwriter Bill Camplin, longtime studio musician Jason Klagstad and Milwaukee music veteran Kenn Anderson will perform sets with members of their families in a benefit for Guitars For Vets (www.guitarsforvets.org), a non-profit group that provides free guitars and lessons to military veterans in the area.
Koch and his 15-year-old son, Dylan, will pair with Koenig and his 17-year-old son, Andrew, to form All Day 4K. (Koch also is performing Saturday night at Shank Hall).
Hanson, whose music has appeared on virtually every major television network, will perform with his children Josh, Luke and Elijah, while folk scene fixture Camplin will pair with son, Satchel Paige.
Klagstad, who has played with members of Talking Heads and the Heartbreakers in the past, will hit the stage this time with his daughter, Rae, and her fiancé, Benjamin Fisher. Anderson, who played in numerous bands in southeastern Wisconsin over the past 35 years, will perform with his children Kyle, Cain and Sam. Each family will appear twice during the event.
An $8 donation is requested at the door, with all proceeds going to Guitars For Vets. The program, which is smoke-free, begins at 9:30 p.m. Several U.S. Armed Forces veterans are expected to attend.
