The WMSE spring membership drive is just about underway, so to save Brent Gohde some time we crammed two weeks' worth of events and songs into one longer-ish podcast this week. We'll be back live in early May. Hang in there.
The New Loud isn't the raucous, screamo affair its name might suggest. Instead, the two-guy, one-girl trio is harmonic and poppy and really catchy. The band plays the Cactus Club this Friday, April 25 with Molitor, The Box Social and Powers.
The Uptown Savages have a slew of show lined up from now until Bastille Days (June 10), beginning with a 10:15 p.m. slot at Lulu on Saturday, May 3. The show will cost you $6, but you might want to bring some extra cash for those sweet potato chips.
Black Elephant's Element broke out on her own for last year's hit solo project, "Life is a Heist." Next Saturday, May 3, she reunites with Black Elephant's D. Ellzey for a Stonefly Brewing Co. show that also rallies Haz Solo, The House of M and The Rusty P's to the stage.
The Cactus Club welcomes Wooden Robot, The Cave Singers and The Trusty Knife for a folksy Saturday night this April 26. It's just a sincere bummer that the show happens to land on the name night as the one below.
It's the very last Since By Man show ever and it's going to be one for the books. Pay your respect to the band at the Bay View Post this Saturday. The show starts at 7 p.m. because it's an all-star lineup: Call Me Lightning, Decibully and Seven Days of Samsara.
