In case you missed them when they were here in May, one of America's hardest working and most enjoyable live bands -- Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers -- make their way back to Milwaukee this Saturday, Oct. 3, for another evening of hot rock and cold tequila.
If you've never had a chance to experience The Peacemakers' salty brand of literate, southwestern-tinged roots rock live, you should really plan to hit Vnuk's Lounge in Cudahy on Saturday night. Clyne and his compadres always put on a heck of a show.
Tickets are $15 and are available online at vnuks.com.
If you're not sure who these guys are, check out this OnMilwaukee.com feature from May.

"If you don't get it, you never will." yeah, they're like Radiohead in that regard aren't they? c'mon Hainer, this stuff is as challenging as a Suppan fastball right down the middle of the road. the win/loss on this material is roughly the same as well.

These boys have not lost anything on their fastball. If you don't get it, you never will.

These guys are just a great honky tonk bar band. You'll get a lot of Freshies material as well as the solo stuff. Tons of energy. Great guitar hooks. Sure wish I wasn't out of town this weekend. I'd be there.

wtf is with OMC's obsession with this middling outfit? everytime they play here it seems they get the small feature article treatment. aren't there more exciting bands to write about than mediocre journeyman acts such as this one?

The Refreshments - I had to put that first so it shows up. If you liked the refreshments show up since usually over half their set is songs from the "original" band the refreshments. Thank you for giving my secret band addiction away. At this point i'm pretty sick of seeing them at hole in the wall places and i'm ready for them to step up to bigger venues. Hopefully some people will take notice and come out to the show :)
