They were included in just about everyone's Best of 2007 lists thanks to their critically acclaimed album "The Con," which was produced by Death Cab's Chris Walla.
But the music world's love affair with Tegan and Sara extends much further back than that. The siblings were barely out of high school when they signed with Neil Young's Vapor Records and toured with Rufus Wainwright.
"If It Was You" and "So Jealous" came out in 2002 and 2004, respectively, teaming up the sisters with members of the New Pornographers and The Smugglers.
Last year's "The Con" welcomed contributions from Death Cab For Cutie drummer Jason McGerr, guitar virtuoso Kaki King, AFI's Hunter Burgan and The Rentals' Matt Sharp.
The Canadian indie pop twins are now preparing for an extensive tour that brings them to Milwaukee's Pabst Theater on Wednesday, May 7 at 8 p.m.
They play at the Barrymore Theater in Madison the night before, May 6.
Tickets are $25 (reserved) and go on sale Friday, Jan. 18 at noon at The Pabst and Riverside Theater box offices, on the Web at www.pasbttheater.org and www.tickets.com, or by calling (414) 286-3663, or (800) 511-1552.
