WAMI ceremony slated for April 14
The Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards are returning to Turner Hall, 1034 N. 4th St., on April 14 for the organization's annual awards show.
A complete list of nominees will be posted at wamimusic.com after March 1. Tickets will go on sale that same day and can be purchased at The Pabst Theater box office for $24.99 for adults and $15 for students.
The show will present awards in 35 categories as well as feature a variety of live music performances, including The Jimmys, Sexy Ester, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, The Squeezettes, Klassik, Annex and De La Buena.
In a first for this year, the WAMI Awards will be preceeded by a one-night musical showcase spread across five live music venues in the city. "Downtown Alive" will take place on Saturday, April 13. A full schedule will be released soon, but participating vendors will include Buckheads, German Beer Hall, Suite and Upper 90.
