Optional is the band's latest EP release. It follows up Strangest Places's full length album Very Loud Thoughts, which has been described by The Onion as "bombastic, cleverly written" and "reminiscient of the early Cure". Hiding the Igniting Girl was released in October of 1999, from the earlier days of the band's synthrock style.
