I must admit, I'm not as up to date on my celebrity "news" as I once was, but it's hard to ignore the televised (and tweeted) meltdown of Charlie "Wild Thing" Sheen. His rant directed at his boss, Chuck Lorre, is one of the more unusual diatribes I've read about, a feud between millionaires with their own giant egos.

But right here in Milwaukee -- and extending across the state -- we've seen our share of feuds over the years, too. Some are serious, some are in jest. Some are overblown, and some are just just weird.

Maybe you remember some of these older ones; some are still fresh in the headlines. Weigh in with your recollections -- and your additions -- using the Talkback feature below:

Famous feuds:

  • AJ Bomber's vs. Sobelman's (Food Wars!)
  • WEAC vs. Walker (war of attrition)
  • The Violent Femmes vs. each other (chili combat)
  • Marty Burns-Wolfe vs. Jerry Taff (saved by a song)
  • Prince Fielder vs. Manny Parra (dugout dustup)
  • Prince Fielder vs. Barry Zito: (bowling ball and subsequent strike)
  • Gary Sheffield vs. Bud Selig: (committing errors to get traded?!?)
  • Mayor Maier vs. The Milwaukee Journal: (Politics and paper, or oil and water?)
  • Solomon Juneau vs. Byron Kilbourn (the original Milwaukee feud)
  • Cubs vs. themselves in Spring Training (not Wisconsin, but hey, their season's over before it begins)

In some cases, famous Wisconsinites don't need a partner to spar with. These guys dug their own holes:

Men (allegedly) behaving badly:

  • Mark Chmura (not a great chaperone)
  • Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan (cut this guy off)
  • Brett Favre (cancel his texting plan)
  • Mayor John Norquist (how do you like them apples?)
  • Archbishop Rembert Weakland (indiscretions cost Church millions)
  • Racine Mayor Gary Becker (not who you want to see at mall food court)

He was also Associate Editor of The GW Hatchet, his college newspaper at The George Washington University.

Before launching OnMilwaukee.com in 1998 at age 23, he worked in public relations for two Milwaukee firms, most of the time daydreaming about starting his own publication.
