Between the Super Bowl, the launch of OnMilwaukee.com Bar Month and the blizzard of the century (allegedly), this week marks a trifecta of big Milwaukee news events all converging at the same time.

I'm pretty excited, both as a news consumer and because I'm expecting a huge week of traffic at OnMilwaukee.com.

The best part is the early February is historically a slow time for OnMilwaukee.com, which is why we created Bar Month several years ago. The Packers trip to the Super Bowl is icing on the cake, and a projected dumping of snow is the cherry on top.

Fortunately, we are a digital medium, so we don't have to worry about running out of printed pages to carry everything we're writing. But, if you think our normal litany of about 120 articles, blogs and briefs each week is a lot, then stand back. There's much more to come.

With Bar Month, you'll get two winners of our "best of" survey revealed each day, plus a dozens of feature articles spread out across February. Every day this week, we have Packers coverage from both Milwaukee and Dallas (including a few surprising contributors). And, the "OnMilwaukee.com Meteorologist" Craig Koplien is supplying us with regular blizzard updates.

Site traffic is already on the rise, up 6.61 percent over the previous 30 days. I'll go out on a limb and project it will go up quite a bit more before Sunday. Which is all great news, since we're an advertising-based business, and the award-winning content you read here every day is funded completely by the advertising community who buys inventory that is largely based on available page impressions.

So grab that shovel, tip back a cold one and gear up for a showdown in Dallas. And while you're at it, please continue to visit OnMilwaukee.com early and often.

It's a great week to be in Milwaukee.
