Milwaukee is fortunate to have an abundance of great coffee. Our "best of" readers survey for coffee is chock full of shops and you really can't go wrong by picking one for your cup of joe.
TheDailyMeal.com, however, scoured the nation for the top coffee shops in the land. Shops were measured on a wide range of criteria including the coffee itself, the culture of the shop and the baristas behind the counter. Food also played a part in the ranking, though it did not have as much weight as the previous factors listed. In the end, two of Milwaukee's shops made the list of "America's 50 Best Coffee Shops."
Anodyne Coffee Roasters: Bill Walsh of The Pure Coffee Blog noted, "The great coffee matched with the warm demeanor of the staff makes for a great combination. Plus both of their locations offer a great space to unwind and enjoy some great beans."
Colectivo Coffee: TheDailyMeal.com said, "With locations throughout Milwaukee, Colectivo is a coffeehouse with a conscience. They've formed partnerships with many arts, environmental and social nonprofits, such as The Florentine Opera and the Urban Ecology Center, to enrich the community they serve."
