Lesson learned from dancing Driver

Believe it or not, there is something that sports fans can actually learn from "Dancing With the Stars," and the lesson has to do with one of the biggest gripes that people have about the world of professional sports.

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone complain about how athletes have no loyalty and what pigs they are for becoming free agents and how they grub for money, I would be a wealthy man. "It was so much better," they say, "when a player stayed with one team his entire career."

The lesson we can learn now, however, is being taught by one of the best-loved and best-known Green Bay Packers, Donald Driver.

Odds are that Driver, big smile and national fame because he can dance, will be let go by the Packers before next season. There just may be no room for a guy who can still play, because wide receiver is probably the strongest position on the team.

Here's the lesson for all of us. When you hear someone complain how players have no loyalty, remind them that teams also have absolutely no loyalty to players.

You say to to yourself, how could they let him go? The answer is, easily.
