

32 things I loved in 2012
Many great things happen in a year, so it's hard to whittle them all down to one concise list. Yet, I've attempted just that.

- The spirited play of the Bucks Larry Sanders
- Milwaukee's top 20 finish in the Bloomberg Challenge
- Historic Milwaukee's "Envisioning the Scene" events
- The 18th season of HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel"
- Zac Brown Band's show at Summerfest
- The Brewers mini-run at a playoff spot especially during a season when most counted them out. Darn blown saves
- Louis C.K.'s "Lincoln" sketch on "SNL"
- Ryan Braun's season
- The opening of The Moderne in Downtown
- Dear MKE
- Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait"
- Northwestern Mutual's new Downtown office tower announcement
- The Lumineers' "Ho Hey"
- The cornbread at Smoke Shack
- The summer heat wave
- "Argo"
- The record crowd that ran the annual "Storm the Bastille"
- Another solid, if not a bit wacky, season of "Homeland"
- Season two of "Boss"
- The return of the supper club to the area with the openings of Bartolotta's Joey Gerard's restaurants in Greendale and Mequon
- Kenny Chesney's underrated release, "Welcome to the Fishbowl"
- The beginning of the new Downtown arena conversations. This is a good thing
- OnMilwaukee.com's EPPY for "Best Entertainment Website"
- Buzz Williams' dance after Marquette beat West Virginia
- "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" by William Joyce
- Another championship for the Wave
- Continued expansion for Milwaukee's best pizza, Calderone Club
- Leinenkugel's Snow Drift Vanilla Porter
- The daily messages inside Joel Osteen's "I Declare"
- The openings of The Stone Creek Factory, 422 N. 5th St., and Alterra Coffee Roasters' Bay View Cafe
- And, of course, my family, friends and you, the great people of Milwaukee!

Store store, (shoo) has expanded its Milwaukee location in the Historic Third Ward by adding 1,000 square feet at 241 N. Broadway. The women and men's shoe store also is adding a new retail neighbor.
New Riverwalk art catches a question

Jeremy Shamrowicz from Flux Design has a new piece on the Milwaukee Riverwalk. It was just installed today. It seems to ask question. Maybe we should think inside the box.
