My wife went to grade school in Flint, Mich., so, naturally, she's a big Charlie Bell fan. Bell was born in Flint and went to Flint Southwestern Academy High School.

Bell has been with the Bucks for four seasons after signing with the team in August 2005.  The 30-year-old guard owns career averages of 9.5 points, 2.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds over five NBA seasons.

I'm a fan, too. Although, admittedly, I'd like to see a bit more scoring from him. Sorry, Charlie. Consider it a challenge for 2009-10.

What my wife and I both like about Bell is that he's fun, out going and, for the Bucks, a solid community guy who works Twitter and the Web well. Follow him at @flintstone14.

Continuing his Web-based promotion, Bell and the Bucks today announced a new contest in which you can get the Bucks guard to do your job for you.

That's right.  Bell has teamed up with Bucks.com to launch a new contest called, "Hey, Charlie! Do My Job!"  The online competition asks fans to submit -- in 200 words or less -- their reasons why Bell should help them do their job.  Five winners will be chosen based on the creativity of their entries and the appealing aspects of their jobs. Bell will assist them with their job on a weekday in early August and Bucks.com will be on hand to tape each "day at work" in order to produce five in-depth segments to air online during the months of August and September.

"I just want to go on record as saying that no job is too hard, too grimy or too unusual," said Bell in a news release issued by the team.  "I’ve seen a few reality shows do this same thing and it makes for good TV.  I thought it would be fun for the fans and the people of Milwaukee.  I’m looking forward to this."

In addition to hosting Bell for a day and playing a key role in a Bucks.com video feature, winners will also receive two tickets to a Bucks game during the 2009-10 season.  The chosen five will be notified on Monday, Aug. 10, and taping will take place later that week.

The deadline to enter is Saturday, Aug. 8.  Fans can enter the contest and find more information, including a set of official rules here.
