I watched last week's "30 Rock" this weekend and it was another great episode that interestingly had a mention of one of the Milwaukee area's best-known bands, the BoDeans.
In what was essentially a big inside joke comparing the sitcom to another sitcom, "Night Court," while using a title worded like a "Friends" episode "The One with the Cast of "Night Court," the show laughed at itself while running with a gag character, Claire, played by Jennifer Aniston.
In one scene, Tina Fey's character, Liz, says to Jack (Alec Baldwin) that her friend Claire has brought down many powerful men in Chicago, "including Scottie Pippen and the drummer for the BoDeans."
You can watch the entire episode at the link below.
In other BoDeans news, the band has just released a new acoustic compilation called ""Live Acoustic." It features 13 songs recorded in Schamburg and Arlington Heights, Ill. in November 2008.

For the benefit of Wisconsin and visitors to our fine state, Milwaukee's moving forward with a streetcar. In addition, the Downtown trolley is back this summer and other options like Uber Black and Lyft are here now, too. Options are good. Cars are great. They all work well together.

I won't be going to Dallas for the Final Four, but I'll be watching as I'm sure you will be. It's great for our state when any of our teams rise the ranks and battle for a title. Nothing brings us together like sports and championships. But, this doesn't mean we can't keep our loyalties.

Frank the Fish, maybe? When it's Lent and you serve one of the best fish fries in Milwaukee you can hang a 25-foot marlin at the Milwaukee Public Market if you want. And that is just what St. Paul Fish has done.
