The sign says walk, so why not on the river?

I love the lead photo in this blog. Taken at the Wells Street bridge in Downtown Milwaukee, it shows what I guess is the latest craze on the Milwaukee River, stand-up paddle surfing.

I'm guessing the man is riding a fiberglass paddleboard and may live in the area since I've seen him several times this month.

I've canoed, kayaked and boated on the Milwaukee River but I'm not sure if I have the guts to paddleboard it yet. Seems a bit risky, but I've never seen this guy fall in.

Who knows? Maybe it's only a matter of time before the city installs paddleboard-crossing signs on the Milwaukee River, too.

34661 OMC should do a piece on boating on lake Michigan/Milwaukee river. With which bars and restaurants and best places to tie up your boat. Milwaukee has a lot of water and no story about boating on the many rivers or on the lake. A guide to boating the Milwaukee waters if you will.
