Marquette's "Raynor Rave" hits SI.com, goes viral
Hats off to my alma mater, Marquette University, and its students for another social media coup. This time the University engineered a "rave" at its library. The video "Raynor Rave at Marquette University" is all over the Web today and it even landed on SI.com with this blurb:
"Timothy of Milwaukee, says: "What happens when its freezing cold outside during Marquette University finals week? You go flood the library with hundreds of people, blast Miley Cyrus, and body surf," while Chris Wetmore of Broomfield, Col., says, "As you probably know it is finals week all of the country for most universities. Here at Marquette we decided why not throw a flash rave in our library, Club Ray. This is what happened."
For the final night of final exams last night, students crashed Marquette University's Raynor Library and rocked out.
Students Ryan Glazier, Bryan Miguel and Chris Mason with, according to Glazier "extensive support of the student body" organized the bash. Glazier added in an e-mail, "It was a great time. Good to be a MU student!"

I'm surprised so many students went out after dark at the same time without the shuttle vans having to pick them all up.

Really? A Rave?! Since when is Miley Cyrus being played over an intercom system classified as a Rave? Maybe times have changed over the years but this looks to be a flash mob. Going off this logic, Oprah's show on Michigan Ave when the Black Eyed Peas played should be called a Rave too....come on now

Glazier is not that smart. It should be, "Good to be an MU student." Not, "Good to be a MU student."
