As Milwaukee's first official mojito lounge, Kaña stands out as an original. The South Side bar offers a lengthy menu of mojitos mixed every way imaginable and no matter what your palate prefers -- sweet, sour, spicy -- there is a mojito to please it, and they all come artfully crafted and refreshingly good.

The menu offers 15 standard varieties at $8 each, but every weekend there are new creations on special. You never really know what they'll come up with next.

That's not to say you can't order a different drink there -- they've got a full bar liquor stash and Guinness on tap with more beers to come -- but one look at general manager and bartender Juan Solano's freshly made Cuban cocktails and it seems downright silly to order anything else.

Menu: Mojitos are the specialty.

Price: Moderate.

When to go: It's closed Monday and Tuesday, but opens the rest of the week at 7 p.m.

Dress: Come casual, unless you are planning to partake in the free salsa dancing lessons on Thursday nights from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., in which case you might want to step it up a bit.

Don't miss: The mojito en fuego, if you can handle it. This drink muddles mint and lime juice and mixes it with Patron tequila, jalapeño juice and slices of jalapeño. It's got a real bite, but is amazingly drinkable.

We've spent the last two weeks profiling the 10 contestants, culminating today with last year's reigning champion, Jim Carney of the BBC.

Jim Carney: Nine years.

OMC: What's your signature drink?

JC: Jameson sour Old Fashioned.

OMC: What's your favorite Milwaukee bar (other than the one you work at)?

JC: Burnhearts, Ten Bells, Cafe Lulu, Up and Under, Riverhorse, and the Harp and Shamrock.

OMC: How do you get good tips?

JC: Treat people the way I would want to be treated and treat all of my patrons like they are on a mini vacation.

OMC: Have you ever cut someone off?

JC: Hell yes! Know your limits, because everyone else sure does.

OMC: Do you believe in "beer after liquor, never been sicker; liquor before beer, you're in the clear?"

JC: No. Ride your drinking like a bull. Keep the good buzz and know when to get off before you hurt yourself too badly (and don't do what I do).

OMC: Are you more likely to go out for Sunday service industry night or Sunday morning brunch?

JC: Sunday morning brunch.

OMC: Are you looking forward to the smoking ban?

JC: As a dumbass chain-smoker I am actually looking forward to it. But I still think bars are supposed to make you feel like you're somewhere you shouldn't be. I need a smoke now.

OnMilwaukee.com: How long have you been a bartender?

Dustin Drankiewicz: Six years.

OMC: What's your signature drink?

DD: I myself am a High Life and bourbon guy. Ask the boys about my "Twinkie bombs" or "egg shots," but if you're a cocktail nerd, stop in at Mi-keys and try the new cocktail menus I recently put out.

OMC: What's your favorite Milwaukee bar (other than the one you work at)?

DD: I'm gonna have to go top three: Velvet Hour, Jackalope Lounj and Burnhearts.

OMC: How do you get good tips?

DD: I plead the fifth.

OMC: Have you ever cut someone off?

DD: More than I like to. People don't like being cut off.

OMC: Do you believe in "Beer after liquor, never been sicker, liquor before beer in the clear?"

DD: Que?

OMC: Are you more likely to go out for Sunday night service industry night or Sunday morning brunch?

DD: I love me some brunch and day drinking. That, in turn, turns out to night boozing. Its a vicious, intoxicating, awesome cycle.

OMC: How long have you been a part of Newaukee?

AB: About a year.

OMC: Why did you join Newaukee?

AB: My friend Haley is really active in it and she brought me. Being a recent Marquette graduate who moved here from Chicago, it's nice to meet other young professionals. It's a great group -- always fun and there are always new people.

OMC: What's your favorite Milwaukee bar (other than the one you work at)?

AB: R.I.P. Grant's Pub.

OMC: Do you believe in "beer after liquor, never been sicker; liquor before beer, you're in the clear?"

AB: It's all about the amount. Or your tolerance, which I've sadly found disappears after college.

AB: It doesn't bother me either way.
