I sprained my ankle this weekend. Bummer.

After day three of couch prison, I was forced to "crutch out" into the real world. Of course, a pit stop for a drink occurred.

However, I was hesitant to go to a bar on crutches. No situation comes to mind were anyone says, "Hey! Let's give to a beer to someone who is moving on metal chopsticks!"

Upon walking into the joint, I saw someone with a crutch at the bar, too. My only thought was, "Nice, I'm not the only one."

This does pose a question, though: what should you think when you see someone with casts, crutches, eye patches, etc; having a drink next to you? Does anyone want to ask the lady with the eye patch if see she could tell you about rum in pirate English?

Or ask that guy in the cast if he brought a Sharpie so you could write your number on it?

Perhaps ask that person risking the one-crutch trot for a drink if he thought of a utility belt that eases spilling a gin and tonic?

Or is this just that cocktail talking?

I want to know if there is some sort of etiquette for these things. Milwaukee, what do you think?
