Doing it over

I'll take a side of Do-Over please.

Now that I'm well past the year 30 mile marker and rapidly closing the chapter on yet another year, it's time for the obligatory "let's reflect on everything that I still have yet to do in my life."

Ironically, as this thought was doing figure eights in my brain, I was I having a conversation with a friend about the crazy things we've done in life, and how wicked awesome it would be if we could have a do-over sometimes. For instance, I'd like a do-over on my 20s – all of them. You should be able to buy credits for life do-overs like you can buy credits for Farmville.

The past few years I've been very fortunate to stumble upon experiences that I never thought were possible for me, and have met some truly wonderful people who've challenged my thinking and inspired me in ways too numerous to list. A healthy portion of these people comprises my Twitter community, and I'll be the first to admit it – I'm living vicariously though some of them.

Having a diverse community that loves sharing their personal experiences – and complimenting them with pictures and video – allows me to feel like I get multiple do-overs. In addition to that, I'm inspired to tackle challenges and become involved with causes or events that I might not otherwise have had an opportunity to try.

For example, my hatred for long-distance running is pretty well documented. However watching some of my friends chronicle their participation awesome half-marathons and other running-induced events, has brainwashed me into signing up for several long distance and mud runs in 2012, two of which occur on the same day. Apparently, I'm also a glutton for punishment.

So to all of you that fill up my timeline with your crazy antics (some fueled by the tasty hops and barley water, others not so much), random acts of kindness, and ridiculous adventures I thank you and toast a cold one in your direction.

Now tell me – if you could have a do over, what would you do?
