The renovations at Alterra Prospect are finished, and today, the cafe celebrates with a grand reopening / Milwaukee Film Festival After-Party.

The free event runs from 2 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30. The Milwaukee Film Festival After Party runs from 7 to 11 p.m.

The celebration includes a Milwaukee Cup tasters Championship at 2 p.m.; Alterra presents "Waste Land" screening at The Oriental at 5 p.m.; live music with Bahia at 8 p.m. and performances by spoken word artists from the upcoming festival film "Mark My Words" at 9:30 p.m.

Earlier this year, construction at Alterra Prospect began and includes expanded seating and an "outdoor room." Other new developments are an expanded menu and a brewed-by-the-cup coffee bar.
