Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery and Mader’s Restaurant have partnered to create an authentic Christkindlmarket – a German Christmas market – that will run from Thursday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 23.

The event will be held at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery, 901 W. Juneau Ave. Admission is free.

Over 15 vendors will sell steins, Hummel figurines, Christmas ornaments, German chocolate candies, cookies, gingerbread, marzipan, Advent calendars, hand-sewn clothing, spices, cheeses and wreaths. The Best Place gift shop will also be open.

Entertainment will include German dancers Peggy Mueller & Friends and the Mardi Gras Society featuring Rheinischer Verein Gruen-Weiss.

German food and beverages will be for sale including schnitzel, sauerbraten, strudel, bratwursts, potato pancakes, pretzels, stollen, Gluhwein (hot spiced wine) and German beer.

Father Christmas will make an appearance daily and will host a breakfast on Sunday after a 10 a.m. mass. Guests will also be invited to hear costumed storytellers, decorate cookies and participate in tree-lighting and keg-tapping ceremonies.

And of course guests are encouraged to snap a photo or selfie with the on-site statues of Captain Frederick Pabst and King Gambrinus, the Patron Saint of beer. Best Place owner Jim Haertel demonstrates:
