Most of us who grew up in Milwaukee – or have raised or are raising kids here – have a photo taken on the zoo train. A few years ago, I held a contest / created a gallery of train photos to further illustrate the prominence of these photos.

Recently, via social media, I noticed another commonly-captured spot in Milwaukee: The Calatrava addition at the Milwaukee Art Museum. I have taken many there myself. It's almost impossible to stand in the light-filled, white-beamed space without snapping a shot or two.

Runners-up for popular Milwaukee places to shoot a photo include atop the La Perla mechanical pepper, the Lake Park lions and, of course, standing next to the Bronze Fonz, most likely with thumbs up. (Warning: if you post a photo of yourself doing anything lewd to / with Fonzie, I'm unfriending you.)

Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.

Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
