It's not a done deal, but it looks like Outpost Natural Foods Cooperative will expand into Mequon at the northeast corner of Mequon and Wauwatosa Roads.

Pending planning commission approval, construction would begin in 2013 on an all-new building featuring many of the green and sustainable design characteristics of the existing Outpost stores.

This would be Outpost's fourth location. The 42 year-old natural foods cooperative currently operates three stores: 100 E. Capitol Dr., 7000 W. State St. in Wauwatosa and 2826 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.

In spring 2012, Outpost opened a Market Café in the main lobby of Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

If approved, a projected opening date for the Mequon location is late spring 2014.
